History

Founded in 1958 and now in its third generation of family ownership, Brüsch has grown from a Rødovre machine shop into an internationally operating precision contract manufacturer.

Since 1958

Milestones in our history

1958

Brüsch was founded by Herman Brüsch, a Precision Mechanic Engineer, under the name H. Brüsch Maskinfabrik. From the outset, the company was built on engineering precision, a principle that has guided every generation since.

1971

The company formalised its structure as a limited liability company under Danish law, and through the following decade invested steadily in new technology.

1979

The acquisition of the company's first CNC milling machine marked a decisive shift toward computer-controlled manufacturing.

1981

Brüsch established its first export relationship outside Denmark, supplying a Norwegian customer through representative Bjørn Sørensen, a partnership that continues to this day, now spanning more than four decades.

1986

The facilities expanded to 1,500 m² on Islevdalvej 138 in Rødovre.

1992

Two milestones arrived together: Brüsch achieved its first ISO 9002 quality certification, and began supplying its first medical device OEM, the start of a MedTech specialisation that has since become central to the company's identity.

1996

Brüsch received environmental approval from Rødovre Municipality and was recognised with an environmental award, an early commitment to responsible production that predated most industry requirements.

2004

The third generation took the helm when Jakob and Gitte Brüsch assumed ownership and leadership, renaming the company Brüsch Precision. That same year the company celebrated its first employee 40-year anniversary, a testament to the stability and loyalty that characterises a family-owned business.

2005

Brüsch had expanded significantly beyond Scandinavia, establishing active customer relationships in Germany and across the broader European Union as well as the United States, growing from a Nordic supplier to an internationally operating contract manufacturer.

2008

The company's 50th anniversary coincided with a period of significant automation investment.

2011

Brüsch introduced its first robotic system and achieved ISO 9001:2008 certification.

2012

A second robotic system was introduced.

2014

The addition of ISO 13485 certification, the international standard for quality management in medical device manufacturing, reflected a deepening specialisation in MedTech and opened the door to supplying components for life-critical applications.

2018

The 60th anniversary was marked.

2021

A systematic implementation of LEAN processes began, improving efficiency and reducing waste throughout production. A Six Sigma Black Belt certification was achieved, embedding structured process improvement methodology into the organisation.

2022

Brüsch completed process development and qualification for Nitinol and stainless-steel wire stent production, establishing the company as one of the few European contract manufacturers with this capability.

2024

The company took delivery of its first Escomat D6 Ultra, a high-precision sliding head machine representing the current state of the art in Swiss-type turning. Jakob Brüsch's 25-year tenure was also recognised.

2025

Brüsch completed a major expansion, acquiring the neighbouring building on Islevdalvej and doubling production capacity to 3,000 m², the single largest investment in the company's facilities since 1986, now possessing Islevdalvej 138-140. The same year saw a 2x30-year employee anniversary celebrated, underscoring the long-term continuity of the workforce.

2026

Both ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 certifications were formally renewed, confirming continued compliance with the latest standards.
