4-axis vertical machining

HAAS VF1 and VF2

Brüsch operates two HAAS vertical machining centres, a VF1 and a VF2, both configured for 4-axis machining, with a second VF2, equipped with automated robot loading, currently on order. The existing VF2 is additionally equipped with a tilting head, enabling angled and compound surface operations without re-fixturing.

Primary materials processed are brass and aluminium, where the milling department supports both standalone components and secondary operations on parts originating elsewhere in production. Typical applications include a blood flow regulator component for a medical device customer and a vibration simulation holder used in medical training equipment, both requiring the dimensional accuracy and surface consistency that 4-axis machining provides.

The standalone milling capability complements the multitasking department for components where prismatic machining is the dominant operation rather than a secondary process.
